1. What is in-house CPD?

In-house CPD refers to professional development training delivered at your veterinary practice. It’s tailored to your team’s specific needs, enabling everyone to learn together in a familiar environment.

2. Why choose in-house CPD over external courses?

In-house CPD offers:

  • Convenience, eliminating the need for travel.
  • Cost-effectiveness by training your whole team on-site.
  • Customisation to address your practice’s unique challenges.
  • Opportunities to enhance team cohesion through shared learning experiences.

3. What topics can be covered in in-house CPD?

VetriNurse CPD training covers a variety of topics, including:

  • In-House Veterinary CPR CPD (Based on RECOVER CPR guidelines)
  • Veterinary Anaesthesia CPD (choose up to two tailored topics from our list).
  • Veterinary Multiparameter Monitoring and Training

5. How long does in-house CPD last?

Session durations are flexible, ranging from 3-hour workshops to full-day training sessions, depending on your team size and the topics you choose.

6. Can the training be customised for my team?

Absolutely! Each session is designed to meet your practice’s specific goals, skill levels, and interests, ensuring maximum relevance and impact.  Please ensure you request specific goals and interests on booking.

7. What are the benefits of in-house CPD for my team?

8. How much does in-house CPD cost?

Costs depend on the session duration and complexity and start from £500 per session.  In-house CPD is generally more cost-effective than sending multiple team members to external courses. Travel expenses are charged at 45p per mile.

9. What do I need to provide for an in-house CPD session?

  • A suitable training space.
  • 2-3 tables for practical tasks.
  • Engaged participants ready to learn!

10. How do I book in-house CPD for my practice?

Booking is easy! Contact us via our contact form or email us at enquiries@vetrinursecpd.com. Share your practice’s needs, topics of interest, and preferred schedule, and we’ll help plan the perfect session.

11. Can in-house CPD count toward RCVS CPD requirements?

Yes, in-house CPD counts toward RCVS CPD requirements as long as it’s relevant and properly documented.  We provide E-certificates for CPD documentation.

12. Can in-house CPD sessions be refunded?

Yes, in-house CPD sessions can be refunded if cancelled no less than 30 days before the CPD is scheduled to commence. However, a 30% administration fee of the full course cost will remain payable.

13. How can I pay for in-house CPD?

We provide flexible payment options:

  • You can pay in full upon confirmation of booking.
  • Alternatively, we can invoice, requiring a 70% deposit to be paid within one month of booking confirmation and the remaining 30% to be paid on or within 7 days of the in-house CPD booked date.

14. Can VetriNurse CPD be "on call" for complex cases?

VetriNurse CPD cannot provide “on-call” services for your practice. However, if you need assistance with a future complex anaesthetic case, we can offer consultation services or even hands-on assistance to your nursing team.

15. How many people can be involved in the training?

Each session accommodates up to 20 participants. For larger teams, we can arrange an additional session at extra cost.

16. Do patients need to be sedated or anaesthetised for training?

For multiparameter training, we offer two options:

  1. Use a pre-booked sedation/anaesthesia case. The case must be monitored by your team, and VetriNurse CPD will assist with multiparameter interpretation.
  2. Use practice pets or our own pets for ECG, blood pressure (BP), and SPO2 setup. Please note that capnography cannot be measured on conscious patients.

For our Veterinary CPR CPD and Veterinary Anaesthesia CPD we do not require patients for practical demonstrations.

17. I ordered a pocket guide, when will I receive this?

We send all our shop items by Royal Mail 2nd class delivery.  If you have not recieved your item after 7 days of purchase please contact us via enquiries@vetrinursecpd.com

18. I booked a ticket for a live CPD event and the date has changed, can I get a refund?

We try our upmost to ensure our live events run on the expected dates and times however we may experience circumstances out of our control which leads us to cancel events and/or rearrange dates.  If this does happen we will offer 100% refund or the option to attend on the new advertised date.
